The Edmonton Blues Society (EBS) is a registered non-profit society in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Our mission is to promote and facilitate local blues musicians and fans coming together to enjoy the music they love, by:

- giving amateur, developing and professional Blues musicians a chance to play to a supportive audience,
- members and guests get the opportunity to hear and party to good blues music in a safe and friendly family environment. 
- encouraging young local blues musicians, and
- contributing to local charities. 
 

EBS is completely run by volunteers who are blues fans and/or musicians themselves! The following members have been elected to the EBS Board for 2009: James Donelon, Janette Frigon, Lonnie Hanson, Bernie Kowalewski, Andy Nikiforuk, Mary Richards, Rosalynn Ruptash, Tom Wood and Maureen Workman. Andy, Bernie, Rosalynn and Tom will form the EBS Executive and James, Janette, Lonnie, Mary and Maureen will be Directors. Thank you to all the EBS members for your support at our AGM!

Special Note:  Effective May 17th, Janette Frigon has resigned her post at EBS and has headed for greener pastures on the west coast of Canada.  Janette was one of the founding members of EBS and was a wonderful ambassador, board member and volunteer.  Her presence at the EBS door, board meetings and various blues venues and functions in the Edmonton area will be sorely missed.  Best wishes Janette and hope to see you back in Edmonton and EBS as a visitor/guest.

Effective November 11 Maureen Workman has resigned her post at EBS to concentrate on her job & personal endeavors.  Thank you Maureen for your hard work and dedication & good luck on your future endeavors !

EVENTS:

We host monthly dances and jam sessions at the Queen Alexandra Hall, 10425 University Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta. Doors open at 7:30 p.m., music at 8:00 p.m., unless otherwise posted.

MEMBERSHIP:

Membership fees are currently $25 a year, renewable on the anniversary of the date of purchase. Members' admission to regular events is $5, open stage/jams is $3, half price for Charity events and up to a 20% discount for special sponsored events. Memberships are available at any EBS regular and sponsored event.

Non-members are welcome as guests at $10.00 admission to regular events,  $5 for open stage/jams, and the full posted price for all other events.
