Sabrina Weeks & Swing Cat Bounce - bio

“It’s music that’s full of life, vitality and fun. While the “bouncers” are excellent musicians, it’s Weeks who dominates with a voice that sounds like it was trained back in the 1940's and 1950's. She just gets that boogie down right.”      Dale Bass, Reporter/Columnist

Sabrina Weeks and Swing Cat Bounce received the prestigious Maple Blues Award for “Best New Blues Act” in Canada in January 2012. Later in 2012, Sabrina had the honour of performing at Massey Hall as part of the Women in Blues Revue. 2013 is shaping up to be an even better year than 2012 for Sabrina Weeks and Swing Cat Bounce. Their newest CD “Got My Eye on You” produced by blues legend Jack Lavin was released March 2013.

This act needs to be seen! Offering up a generous helping of the Swinging Bouncing Boogie Blues is what they do. The show is dynamic. The players are exceptional. The grooves drive until you’re swingin’, bouncin’ and getting’ your boogie on! The songs are light hearted with a twist of naughty, the melodies are infectious, and it is abundantly apparent when watching this group that they truly love what they are doing.

Their 2010 CD “Tales from Lenny’s Diner” debuted at #1 in Canada, #12 world-wide on the Roots Music Report Blues Music charts and peaked at #6 on the world blues charts in March 2011. The CD made the top 100 Roots Music Report (RMR) list for most radio plays globally for 2011. “Tales from Lenny’s Diner” has been rated in the top 100 new CDs released in 2010/2011 according to the Real Blues “Top of the Charts” report and voted as the #1 CD released for 2010 by CFBX and best new artist for 2010 by the Blues Underground. Sabrina Weeks and Swing Cat Bounce peaked at #2 on the Siruis XM “Picks to Click” blues charts with their song “Bad Boys” being the most played song on BB Kings Bluesville for March 2011.

Mike "Hot Licks" Hilliard, guitar - has been playing professionally for over 30 years. Originally from Toronto, Mike has worked in Vancouver, the BC interior and toured in Canada, the USA and Asia. He now resides, like the rest of the Swing Cat Bounce members, in Kamloops, BC.
